About This Series

Salt Lake City. Early 2000s. JEB JENSEN, 50s, is a Yale-trained trademark attorney, LDS elder, devoted husband, and the most principled man in any room he enters. He has spent his entire career at Jensen & Jensen — the family firm his grandfather built — waiting for the day his father hands it to him. Instead, his father dies mid-tryst and leaves the firm to JOHANNA BATES, his secret second wife — a billboard-plastering slip-and-fall attorney whose face covers half the state of Utah.

With his father's betrayal exposed and Johanna threatening to sell Jensen & Jensen for $50 million, Jeb has one year and one option: earn the money back. Enter FLINT STONE — foul-mouthed CEO of the most successful pornography company in California, previously humiliated by Jeb in court — who has been waiting for exactly this moment. Backed into the proverbial corner, Jeb and his wisecracking Yale buddy DOM PORCELLI fly to Los Angeles and descend into the San Fernando Valley.

What follows is three seasons of Jeb Jensen trying to do the right thing in the wrongest possible industry — while keeping his faith, his wife, and his ethics more or less intact. Better Call Saul meets The Righteous Gemstones. Very loosely based on real events and lawyer-type people.

Season Arc

Season One — Faith

Jeb and Dom work Flint's cases while keeping their ethics intact — and discover the church itself is behind the exploitation of the girls they're trying to protect. Season ends with the revelation that Jeb's father was the connection between the church and pornography all along.

Season Two — Losing My Religion

Four years later. Jeb has left the church, left Marian, and gone fully into the industry with Flint. Dom has turned into everything Jeb used to be. Jeb must find out who he really is — without his father's shadow, his church, or his firm to define him.

Season Three — Redemption

Jeb runs for Governor of Utah against the Mormon candidate. Loses. Gets his family back. Learns that no one's judgment — family, church, or citizens of the world — matters as much as what kind of man he himself wants to be.

Theme

"No one's opinion or judgment — family, church, or the citizens of the world — matters as much as what kind of man you yourself want to be."
